It is clear from this image that regardless of the cape and tights, Batman is a guy like the rest of us, his boots still covered with snow, his knife sticking into the floor where he has thrown it in frustration, his books and electronics scattered in the foreground, his tool belt hanging loose on the couch in front of him.  A picture of dejection: he has been unable to keep his team safe.   His face is in the exact center of the page,  The viewer's eye goes first to his face, then to the piles of evidence on the floor, as though to a crime scene, to examine what we can find about his mood.
