This lovely splash page shows Batman's hand on the files of the people he has chosen as his team.  Each one hand-picked for his or her combination of skills, longings, and position in life.  He needs them; he has chosen people who he feels also need him.  We see his files, plus the evidence that he has spent time poring over them: coffee stains, a pencil nub, etc.  (This hand plus quite a lot of hair, is Seth's own hand.)
